A small two-tier stand with a bamboo frame and woven shelves that doubles the space on a counter: mugs on top, jars or cups underneath. The sides narrow slightly towards the top, so it looks light rather than boxy.

It is 26.5 cm / 10.4 inches wide, 18 cm / 7.1 inches deep and 28.5 cm / 11.2 inches tall, and it needs a simple assembly before use. Natural pairs a pale bamboo frame with pale woven shelves; dark brown pairs a dark frame with pale woven shelves.

Wipe the frame and shelves with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Keep it away from the edge of the sink so the woven shelves do not sit in water.

2-Tier Bamboo Countertop Shelf with Woven Shelves, Kitchen and Bathroom Organizer for Mugs, Spices and Toiletries, Natural or Dark Brown

Why it earns its place

Double the space

Two woven shelves turn one corner of the counter into a spot for mugs, jars and bottles.

Bamboo frame

A light frame with sides that narrow towards the top, so it never looks bulky.

Small footprint

26.5 cm / 10.4 inches wide and 18 cm / 7.1 inches deep, enough for the gap beside the kettle.

In your home

Next to the coffee machine it holds the mugs you actually use and a jar of beans underneath. In the bathroom it keeps creams, cotton pads and perfume off a wet counter, and on a desk it sorts notebooks and small plants.

The natural version suits light wood and white kitchens; dark brown gives contrast on a pale worktop or next to black taps. Put a small plant on top and it looks like a piece of furniture, not storage.

Materials and quality

The frame is bamboo, with two woven shelf panels set between the sides. The sides narrow slightly towards the top, which keeps the stand steady and gives it a lighter look than a straight-sided rack. It measures 26.5 x 18 x 28.5 cm / 10.4 x 7.1 x 11.2 inches and needs a simple assembly before use.

Care and everyday use

Dust it with a dry cloth and wipe spills straight away with a damp one, then dry it. Keep the woven shelves out of standing water and away from direct heat. Tighten the screws now and then if it has been moved around.
