Wooden Cutting Board with Juice Groove, Solid Wood Chopping Board for Meat, Cheese and Bread, Kitchen and Dining Table, Medium or Large
Solid wood with a juice groove, sized for a kitchen that actually cooks.
Details
This wooden cutting board is a plain solid board with a juice groove around the edge, so a carved roast or sliced tomatoes do not end in a wet counter. The board is thick and sturdy, made for daily use rather than for show.
It lives on the counter next to the stove, not in a drawer, and doubles as a serving board when people come over: bread, a wedge of cheese, some cured ham. Medium is for daily bread and vegetables; large if you break down a chicken or serve cheese for six. The warm brown grain suits white tiles, pale oak and black steel alike.
It is solid wood, sanded smooth and left unfinished on purpose, no paint or varnish; you oil it yourself. Medium is 23 x 33 cm, large 26 x 38 cm, both 1.5 cm thick, so it does not flex under a cleaver yet stays light enough to carry. Hand wash in warm water, dry it on its edge, and rub in food-safe mineral oil about once a month. No dishwasher, no soaking. If it goes dull or smells, fine sandpaper and fresh oil bring it back.

Why it earns its place
Juice groove that works
A channel runs the whole edge, so a carved roast or a pile of halved tomatoes stays on the board, not on the counter.
Solid wood, not veneer
A thick, sturdy board made for daily knife work. No paint, no varnish, just wood.
Two honest sizes
Medium at 23 x 33 cm for bread and vegetables, large at 26 x 38 cm if you break down a chicken or serve cheese for six.
In your home
It belongs on the counter, not in a drawer. Leave it out next to the stove and it doubles as a serving board when people come over: bread, cheese, a few slices of cured ham.
The warm brown grain sits well with white tiles, pale oak and black steel alike.
Materials and quality
This board is cut from solid pieces of wood, sanded smooth and left unfinished on purpose: you oil it yourself and it keeps improving for years. At 1.5 cm it does not flex under a cleaver and is still light enough to carry to the table.
Care and everyday use
Hand wash with warm water, dry it standing on its edge, and rub in a little food-safe mineral oil about once a month. Never put it in the dishwasher or leave it soaking. If the surface goes dull or picks up a smell, a quick rub with fine sandpaper and fresh oil brings it back.
Good to know
Does the groove trap food?
The channel is rounded and shallow, so a rinse and a wipe with a sponge clears it.
Which side should I cut on?
Use the grooved side for meat and juicy vegetables and the flat back for bread, so crumbs do not collect in the groove.
Will it warp?
Not if it dries standing up and gets oiled now and then. Warping comes from one side staying wet while the other dries.
