Brass Wall Hooks, Solid Brass Coat and Towel Hooks for Bathroom, Kitchen and Hallway, Black or Brass
Solid brass all the way through, so there is no steel underneath to rust in a damp bathroom.
Details
These brass wall hooks are solid brass all the way through, not brass plated over steel. Plating is a thin skin that can wear through and let the steel underneath rust; here there is no steel, so a knock or years of wet towels only ever show more brass. Brass does not rust either, which is why it belongs in wet rooms.
Each hook is a short peg with a round head, and anything with a loop or a strap hangs on the stem behind the head. Put one beside the basin for a hand towel, one on the back of the bathroom door for a robe by its loop, or a row in the kitchen for tea towels and an apron. Both sizes stand 25 mm off the wall; the 32 mm head holds a loop more securely and makes a bolder detail, while the 20 mm head suits a narrow wall or the inside of a cabinet door.
Choose natural brass or black, each with a 20 mm or 32 mm head. Black suits a modern bathroom or kitchen with white tiles and matte black taps; natural brass warms a grey bathroom and catches the light in a hallway. The black finish sits on solid brass, so where it wears, brass shows through. A soft damp cloth and a dry-off is all it needs. Natural brass darkens where hands touch it; brass polish on a cloth brings it back, kept off the wall. Scouring pads and bleach-based bathroom sprays are out.

Why it earns its place
Solid brass, not plated steel
No steel underneath to rust, so a knock or years of wet towels only ever show more brass.
Two head sizes
32 mm holds a loop more securely and makes a bolder detail; 20 mm suits a cabinet door or a narrow strip of wall.
Black or brass
Black for a modern bathroom or kitchen, natural brass where it can catch the light in a hallway.

In your home
Beside a basin for a hand towel, behind the bathroom door for a bathrobe by its loop, or in a row along the kitchen wall for tea towels and an apron. Brass does not rust, which is the whole reason to choose it for the wet rooms of the house, where a cheaper plated hook goes orange within a year.
The smaller 20 mm head is the one for inside a cabinet door, holding a dustpan brush or a set of measuring spoons by their loops. Both sizes sit comfortably with white tiles, timber vanities and matt black taps, and the brass version warms up a grey bathroom noticeably.
Materials and quality
Solid brass is a different thing from brass-plated steel. Plating is a thin skin, and once it wears at the tip of a hook the steel underneath shows and can rust. Here the metal is brass all the way through, so wear only changes the surface tone. On the black version the finish sits on solid brass, so a worn spot shows brass, not grey metal. Brass also shrugs off the humidity of a bathroom or the steam above a hob. Each hook stands 25 mm / 1 in off the wall, with a 20 mm or 32 mm round head.
Care and everyday use
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry it off; that is all the black version wants. Natural brass will slowly darken where hands touch it, which many people prefer. If you want it bright again, use a brass polish on a cloth and keep it off the surrounding wall. Avoid scouring pads and bleach based bathroom sprays.
Good to know
Will it rust in a bathroom?
No. Solid brass does not rust, and there is no steel underneath to rust through.
What is the difference between 20 mm and 32 mm?
The size of the round head. Both stand 25 mm off the wall; the 32 mm head holds a loop more securely, the 20 mm head is neater on a cabinet door or a narrow wall.
Does the finish wear off?
Natural brass has no coating to wear through; its tone softens and darkens with handling. The black finish sits on solid brass, so a worn spot shows brass, never grey metal.
