Cotton Rope Storage Basket, Nordic Woven Organizer for Cosmetics, Keys and Desk Sundries, Grey
This coiled cotton basket goes through the washing machine.
Details
This cotton rope storage basket is rope coiled from the base outward and stitched so the coils hold. That is why it stands up on its own yet gives when you push a hairbrush or keys into it, and why it can go through the washing machine, which rattan and seagrass baskets cannot. Stitched and soft, it reads as fabric rather than furniture.
On a bathroom shelf it takes cotton pads, a razor and the small tubes that roll around the sink. On a desk it is the desk organizer for pens, a charger and whatever else goes missing. By the front door it holds keys without the clatter of a bowl. Soft as it is, it squeezes onto a crowded shelf or nightstand without scratching anything, and as a makeup basket or bedside catch-all the gray sits with white tile, pale wood and muted tones.
It is cotton rope in gray. Wash it cold on the gentle cycle, pull it back into shape while damp and air dry it; no tumble dryer. A lint roller handles dust between washes. If a bottle leaks, it goes straight in the wash, but keep it out of standing water on the shelf; cotton that stays wet will smell. It squashes flat and pushes back into shape.

Why it earns its place
Holds shape, but gives
Rope coiled and stitched stands up on its own, yet flexes when you push a hairbrush or a bunch of keys in.
Desk or shelf sized
Small enough for a bathroom shelf or the corner of a desk, where a rigid box would take up too much room.
Machine washable
Cold, gentle cycle. Most woven baskets can only be dusted; this one gets clean.

In your home
On a bathroom shelf it takes cotton pads, a razor and the small tubes that otherwise roll around the basin. On a desk it is the place for pens, a charger and the things you would otherwise lose. Beside the front door, it becomes the key bowl that does not clatter.
Grey rope sits with white tile, pale wood and the muted tones most bathrooms and bedrooms already have. Because it is soft, it can be squeezed onto a crowded shelf or a bedside table without scratching anything, and if a bottle leaks into it, it goes straight in the wash.
Materials and quality
The basket is cotton rope, coiled from the base outward and stitched together so the coils hold. That construction is why it stands up by itself but still gives under your hand. Because it is rope and stitching, it can go through a cold gentle wash, which is not true of the rattan or seagrass baskets it usually sits next to. You get a soft, grey basket with a stitched texture that reads as fabric rather than furniture.
Care and everyday use
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then reshape it while damp and let it air dry; do not tumble dry. Between washes a lint roller or a quick shake deals with dust. Keep it out of standing water on a bathroom shelf, because wet cotton that stays wet will smell. It can be squashed for storage and pushed back into shape.
Good to know
Can it be washed?
Yes, in the machine on a cold gentle cycle. Reshape while damp and air dry.
Will it stand up on its own?
Yes. The coiled and stitched rope holds its shape, but it will flex if you push something bulky in.
How big is it?
Small, sized for a desk corner or a bathroom shelf, so cosmetics, keys and desk sundries rather than towels or laundry.
