Glass Ball Wall Sconce, Chrome Plate Bedside Light with Pull Chain for Bedroom, Hallway and Living Room, Beige or White
One glossy glass ball, a chrome plate and a pull chain. Nothing else to it.
Details
This glass ball wall sconce is one glossy glass ball on a small chrome plate with a pull chain below it, about as simple as a wall light gets. The ball reads as a single clean shape rather than a fitting made of parts, and with no fabric that fades and no seam, glass and chrome still look new after years on the wall.
Its first job is bedside. Mounted each side of the bed at shoulder height, the chain drops within reach so you can switch it off from the pillow, and the nightstand stays clear. Chrome suits a metal bed frame, white tiles or a mirrored bedside table. In a hall or living room it makes a low accent light, one each side of a mirror or doorway.
Glass and chrome, with the ball in beige or white. White reads crisper on a painted wall; beige is warmer, nearer a linen shade. Warm white light. Dust the ball with a dry cloth, lift fingerprints off the chrome with a damp one and dry it afterwards to avoid spots. Pull the chain straight down, not at an angle, and keep glass cleaner to the ball, not the chrome.

Why it earns its place
Pull chain switch
The chain hangs below the ball, so you switch it off from the pillow without reaching for a wall switch.
White or beige ball
White is the crisper of the two against a painted wall; beige is softer and warmer, closer to a linen shade.
Glossy glass ball
The ball is glossy glass on a small chrome plate, so it reads as a single clean shape on the wall rather than a fitting with parts.

In your home
It is a bedside light first. Mounted either side of the bed at shoulder height when you are sitting up, the pull chain drops to within reach and the bedside table stays clear. Chrome sits naturally with a metal bed frame, a mirrored bedside table or white tiles.
In a hallway or living room it works as a low accent light rather than the main source, one on each side of a mirror or a doorway. The beige ball is the one for cream walls and warmer schemes; the white ball for a cooler, cleaner room.
Materials and quality
The shade is a single ball of glossy glass, either white or beige, and the plate behind it is chrome. There is no fabric to fade and no seam on the shade, which is why this style of light lasts: glass and chrome look the same after years on the wall as they do out of the box. The pull chain is the only moving part. Warm white colour temperature.
Care and everyday use
Dust the ball with a soft dry cloth and wipe fingerprints off the chrome with a slightly damp cloth, then dry it so it does not spot. Glass cleaner on the ball is fine once the light is off and cool; keep it off the chrome. Pull the chain straight down rather than at an angle so the switch is not strained.
Good to know
How do I switch it on?
By the pull chain hanging below the ball. You do not need a wall switch next to it.
Which colours does it come in?
Two: a chrome plate with a white ball, or a chrome plate with a beige ball.
What is the light like?
Warm white, softened by the glass, so it works as a bedside or accent light rather than a bright room light.
