Soft Diatomaceous Earth Drying Mat, Quick-Dry Non-Slip Pad for Washing Machine Tops, Kitchen Counters and Coffee Stations, Grey, Black or Beige
Water soaks in fast, and the rubber base keeps it from sliding.
Details
A soft, absorbent mat with a diatomaceous earth surface that takes in water quickly, laid over a rubber base that grips the surface underneath. It lies flat on top of a washing machine, next to the sink under the dish rack, or under the coffee machine, and it bends and rolls rather than being a rigid stone board.
It measures 50 x 60 cm / 19.7 x 23.6 inches, sized to cover the top of a washing machine or a good stretch of counter. Choose grey, black or beige to match the machine, the worktop or the tiles.
Shake it out or run a vacuum over it, and wash it by hand in lukewarm water when it needs more. Do not put it in the washing machine, and let it dry flat before putting it back.

Why it earns its place
Soaks in quickly
The diatomaceous earth surface takes in drips from glasses, bottles and the coffee machine instead of letting them pool.
Stays put
A rubber underside grips the washing machine lid or worktop, so the mat does not slide when you set things down.
Rolls up
It is soft and flexible, so it can be rolled up, shaken out or moved to another counter in seconds.

In your home
Most people put it on top of the washing machine, where detergent bottles drip and the lid collects damp. It works just as well under the dish rack, beside the kettle or under the coffee machine, anywhere cups and glasses are left to drain.
Grey suits a white or steel machine, black hides coffee rings, and beige sits quietly on wood or stone worktops. At the end of the day the counter is dry, not ringed with water marks.
Materials and quality
The mat has three layers: an absorbent diatomaceous earth top, a middle layer and a rubber base that stops it from sliding and keeps moisture away from the surface underneath. Unlike a hard stone drying board, it is soft enough to roll up and it will not chip if it falls. At 50 x 60 cm / 19.7 x 23.6 inches it is large enough for the top of a washing machine.
Care and everyday use
Shake off crumbs or vacuum the surface. For a deeper clean, wash it by hand in lukewarm water with a little mild soap, rinse and let it dry flat in the air. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or iron it, and keep it away from bleach.
