Details

This stainless steel sauna thermometer and hygrometer is stainless throughout rather than plated, which matters in a room that goes very hot and very humid several times a week. Plating is a thin skin; repeated heat and moisture work at its edges until it blisters and spots. Stainless has no skin to lift or flake. Temperature and humidity share one instrument, with a scale of 0 to 120 °C, cold start to full heat.

Mount this temperature and humidity meter at bench height. Air near the ceiling always runs hotter than air around your shoulders, so a high gauge flatters the sauna with a number you cannot use. Stainless looks right against light sauna timber and a heater that is usually steel too. It fits a modern sauna with pale paneling and a glass door better than a carved wooden gauge, and a hard-used cabin or gym sauna is where it belongs.

Stainless steel, wall-mounted, with the feel of a tool, not a decoration. No polish is needed. Once the room cools, wipe it with a dry cloth, or a damp one for water spots; abrasive pads scratch. Keep it at bench height, never over the stones, and air the sauna afterward. If it comes down for cleaning, dry the back before remounting.

Stainless Steel Sauna Thermometer and Hygrometer, Wall-Mounted Temperature and Humidity Meter for Sauna Rooms, 0 to 120 °C

Why it earns its place

Stainless, not plated

Plated metal blisters and spots in a room that goes from very hot to very humid and back. Stainless steel holds up.

Reads 0 to 120 °C

The whole range a sauna uses, from a cold start to the top of a hot session, on one scale.

Temperature and humidity

Both readings on the one instrument, so you know not just how hot the room is but how wet, which is what decides how it feels.

In your home

On the sauna wall at bench height, where you sit. The air near the ceiling is always hotter than the air around your shoulders, so a gauge up there flatters the sauna and tells you nothing you can use.

Stainless steel sits neatly against light sauna timber and does not fight with the heater, which is usually steel as well. It suits a modern sauna with a glass door and pale panelling better than a carved wooden gauge would, and at this price it is the one to put in a cabin or gym sauna where it will get used hard.

Materials and quality

The body is stainless steel rather than plated metal. That is the whole argument: plating is a thin skin, and repeated cycles of heat and moisture find its edges, while stainless is the same all the way through, so there is nothing to lift or flake. The scale runs from 0 to 120 °C, covering everything from a cold room to a properly hot session. What arrives is a metal gauge that feels like a tool rather than a decoration.

Care and everyday use

Wipe with a dry cloth once the room has cooled, or a damp one for water marks. Stainless needs no polish, and an abrasive pad will scratch it. Mount at bench height, not above the stones, and air the sauna after use. If it comes off the wall for cleaning, dry the back before it goes up again.

Good to know

What range does it read?

0 to 120 °C, which covers a sauna from cold start to fully heated.

Why stainless rather than a wooden gauge?

A sauna wall is hot and wet over and over. Stainless steel does not swell, warp or flake the way wood or plated metal can.

How high on the wall?

Bench height, where you sit. Up near the ceiling it will always read hotter than the sauna feels.
