Details

This vintage bronze coat hook set is ten double hooks with screws in the box, enough for a whole hallway plus a bathroom at once. Each hook has one arm above the other: a coat on the lower, a hat or bag on the upper, both on one screw fixing, so the weight pulls straight into the wall instead of prying the hook loose. They are heavy-duty and take a wet winter coat.

With ten you stop rationing: a row of entryway coat hooks by the front door, a couple of towel or robe hooks behind the bathroom door, some inside a closet, one in the laundry room for the ironing board. The rubbed, aged bronze sits with painted panel doors, dark wood and other brass or black hardware, and looks older than a plain chrome peg.

Aluminum alloy under a vintage bronze finish gives the old brass hardware look without the weight or the cost of brass. A dry cloth handles dust and a barely damp one, wiped dry, the rest; abrasive pads and strong cleaners go through the bronze to the bare alloy. For a heavy coat, fix it to a door, a stud or a plugged wall, never bare drywall, and check the screws once a year.

In your home

Buy hooks in tens and you stop rationing them: a row by the front door, two behind the bathroom door, a few inside the wardrobe and one in the utility room for the ironing board. Ten is enough to do a hallway and a bathroom in one go.

Screw mounted, with the screws in the box. The finish sits well with dark wood, painted panel doors and other brass or black fittings, and it looks older than a plain chrome peg. They are heavy-duty, so a loaded winter coat is not a problem.

Materials and quality

The body is aluminium alloy under a vintage bronze finish, which gives the look of old brass hardware without brass weight or brass money. Each hook is a double, one arm above the other, both on the same screw fixing, so what you hang goes straight into the wall rather than levering the hook loose. They are made as heavy-duty hooks and take a wet winter coat without complaint. Ten hooks and the screws are in the box.

Care and everyday use

Dust them with a dry cloth, or wipe with a barely damp one and dry after. Skip abrasive pads and strong cleaners, which will cut through the bronze finish and show the bare alloy underneath. Fix them into something solid, a stud, a door or a plugged wall, rather than bare plasterboard if a heavy coat is going on them, and check the screws once a year.

Good to know

Do they come with screws?

Yes. Ten hooks and the screws are in the box.

Will one hold a heavy winter coat?

Yes. They are heavy-duty and made to take a wet winter coat on the lower arm with a bag or hat above.

How many hooks do I get?

Ten. Enough for a hallway run and a bathroom, or for spreading around the house.
