Details

This bamboo mug tree hangs six mugs on one stand and gives a whole cupboard shelf back to the plates. Hook spacing is set for standard mugs, so six everyday cups hang in a row without knocking together. The base is square or round, with identical hooks on both, and bamboo is hard, light and easy to wipe.

Put it beside the kettle or the coffee maker and you are holding a mug before the water is hot. It earns its keep most in a small kitchen where cabinet space is scarce, making a coffee corner look arranged instead of piled; on a dining room sideboard the same cup stand does the same job. Pale, plain bamboo lets a row of colored mugs be the feature while the mug holder fades back. Square base for a corner or a wall, round for the open middle of a countertop or worktop.

Material is bamboo, six hooks, square or round base. Oversized latte cups may need every other hook, so count your big ones before it arrives. Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it rather than leaving it in a wet spot by the sink, hang mugs once they have dried instead of dripping, and keep it clear of the kettle's direct steam because bamboo likes to stay dry.

Bamboo Mug Tree, Six-Hook Countertop Cup Stand for Kitchen, Coffee Corner and Dining Room, Square or Round Base

Why it earns its place

Six hooks

Enough for the mugs you use every day, and a whole cupboard shelf goes back to plates.

Square or round base

Square tucks flush into a corner or against the wall; round softens a run of straight worktop edges. The hooks are the same.

Spaced for standard mugs

Everyday mugs hang side by side. Oversized latte cups may only fit on alternate hooks, so count accordingly.

In your home

Stand it next to the kettle or the coffee machine so the mug is in your hand before the water boils. It suits a small kitchen most, where cupboard space is the thing you are short of, and it turns a coffee corner into something that looks arranged rather than piled up. In a dining room it does the same on a sideboard.

Bamboo is pale and plain, so a row of coloured mugs is the feature and the stand stays in the background. Pick the square base for a corner, the round for the middle of a counter.

Materials and quality

It is bamboo with six hooks on a single stand, and the base comes square or round. Bamboo is a hard, light material that wipes clean and does not look out of place next to a kettle. The hooks are spaced for standard mugs, so six ordinary mugs hang without touching. If your cups are the oversized latte kind, they may only fit on alternate hooks, which is worth knowing before it arrives rather than after.

Care and everyday use

Wipe the stand with a damp cloth and dry it; do not leave it standing in a wet patch by the sink. Hang mugs by the handle once they are dry rather than dripping. Keep it out of the direct steam from the kettle if you can, since bamboo prefers to stay dry.

Good to know

Will large mugs fit?

Standard mugs hang side by side. Oversized latte cups may only fit on alternate hooks, so three big ones rather than six.

Square or round base, what is the difference?

The shape of the base only. Square sits flush in a corner or against a wall; round suits the middle of a counter.

How many mugs does it hold?

Six standard mugs, one per hook. Fewer if your cups are oversized.
