This wall mounted wicker basket keeps the counter underneath clear. Two depths let you choose by what you store, not by what happens to fit. The body is woven over a rattan frame, so it holds its shape instead of sagging under a load of onions, and the open weave lets air move around what is inside.

It goes on the kitchen wall near where you cook, so onions, garlic and root vegetables are within reach and out of the closed drawer that makes them sprout. Hang two side by side, garlic in one, onions in the other, and a narrow strip of wall clears a corner of counter.
